We are seeking input on the key challenges and successes for addressing the issues facing older adults across Colorado. We believe recommendations coming from a statewide network of aging interests can make a strong impact on public officials in advance of the 2022 General Assembly. We will compile the input that we gather and share the results at a statewide virtual forum in November with the aim of identifying recommendations for public policy.

The Colorado Center for Aging (formerly Colorado Senior Lobby) is committed to raising the voice of all older Coloradans throughout the state. Colorado Center for Aging (CCA) has formed an advisory group called the “Voices on Aging.” CCA’s “Voices on Aging Advisory Group” is working to develop a statewide network of local leaders and organizations that will provide a forum for dialogue, information exchange and power building of aging interests.

We are a group of diverse CCA members and volunteers. We believe the time is now for forming a statewide network of local leaders and organizations dedicated to the wellbeing of older adults within their communities.

Members of the advisory group recognize the need to understand the diversity of issues facing older adults within underrepresented, Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) communities in urban, rural, frontier areas of Colorado. We are interested to learn how communities are finding ways for their residents to live well and age well.

What We Are Asking For
Please share up to three key issues facing older adults in your community and up to three successes your community experienced for addressing those issues.

What We Are Planning
We believe that recommendations coming from a statewide network of aging interests can make a strong impact on public officials. The advisory group will compile the input on issues and successes that we gather. CCA is considering holding a statewide virtual forum this November to share the input and facilitate conversations to prioritize the issues that have been identified across the state for turning over to state legislators in advance of the 2022 General Assembly.
