Many CCA members have signed up to be part of our Advocacy Topic Research Teams. If you have an interest or background in any of the topics below, it is not to late to participate.

More about the Advocacy Topic Research

The Advocacy Topic Research Teams are sub-groups of the main CCA Advocacy Committee. The main committee meets the 2nd and 4th Mondays from 9:30AM to 11:30AM during the summer. When the Colorado Legislature is in session the committee meets every Monday. The CCA Advocacy Committee provides support and a Zoom meeting platform to bring our members together. Note that you do not have to be a CCA member to attend a CCA Advocacy Committee meeting (but we hope you will consider joining)

The smaller Advocacy Topic Research Teams meet between our main meetings and assign small research assignments and have their own discussions on their advocacy topic and how it impacts older adults in Colorado. These smaller teams then report back to our Monday morning meetings and share what they have learned about that advocacy topic. We are very interested in getting research team members from all over the state of Colorado, so we have perspectives on the advocacy issues from across the state – Contact us today with your questions.

Jeanette Hensley and Rich Mauro organize and run the Monday morning CCA Advocacy Committee meetings. Both Jeanette and Rich have in depth backgrounds on services for older adults in Colorado, the legislative process, and how the Colorado State government works.

Our advocacy topics for summer research include:

  • Behavioral Health/ARPA
  • Geriatric Health Care Providers
  • Adult Protection
